Harbour Area Transfer Scheme (Hong Kong

The Harbour Area Transfer Scheme (HATS) is a major sewerage treatment project serving the densely populated area around Victoria Harbour in Hong Kong, aiming to improve the water quality of the harbour. The first stage was completed in 2001, and stage 2 was completed by 2015.

Geo-Design was involved in this project in 2009, undertaking a review of layout alternatives for adit complexes in rock at the base of deep shafts. This included a review of ground conditions, production of geological models and concept design of temporary support schemes.
