HATS 2A Deep Shafts and Adits

The Harbour Area Treatment Scheme (HATS) Stage 2A is a sewage conveyance scheme to increase capacity of the existing infrastructure from 1.7 to 2.45 million cubic meters of waste water per day.  The project includes 21km of deep tunnels connected to existing surface treatment plants by 10m diameter shafts between 70m and 160m deep.

Geo-Design‘s expert team of geologists and engineers were part of the project design team for the deep shafts at the existing Cyberport, Sandy Bay and Sai Ying Pun surface waste water treatment plants.
