James is a Chartered Engineering Geologist and Director of Geo-Design with experience in rock engineering in both industry and academic environments. His experience is predominantly in consultancy, carrying out major infrastructure project work for clients in the civil engineering, energy, hydrogen storage, nuclear, and mining sectors.
James has been involved in ground investigation specification, supervision and reporting at numerous large infrastructure sites across the UK, as well as rock engineering design from feasibility through to detailed design and construction, primarily related to deep shaft, hydrogen storage and tunnel design. James also sits as UK National Expert for the development of the first series of international standards for rock mechanics laboratory testing.
