Historical Photograph – Seven Sisters Mine – Dudley, UK
Geo-Design undertook a detailed stability assessment of a large underground mine cavern and associated openings to surface.
These mined limestone caverns in England’s West Midlands are a site of significant geological and archaeological interest, representing some of the western world’s most important geological and mining heritage. It holds one of the most diverse and abundant fossil collections in the British Isles and is one of the early centres of the UK’s Industrial Revolution.
Geo-Design provided a detailed stability assessment for Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council which outlined a Mine Stabilisation Scheme for the large caverns and openings to the surface.
